I’ve had some comments/questions on this situation, so I’ll explain.
During the tornado warned storms last week, I receive a text from this Harvest Host traveler who was by herself in a small RV. She was parked at the Library parking lot and didn’t know what to do when the tornado warnings and violent rains hit.
I had a tour group a bit earlier and was still in town at a local business, so I drove to her location to find the RV was surrounded by several inches of water, the garbage totes were blown over to her RV, and the heavy rain and winds made it difficult. I moved the totes with my vehicle and made contact with her. She was extremely frightened. I told her I’d get her to shelter at the Library. I checked and the Library door, but it was locked. Knocking got a Library employee’s attention from the basement. I returned to the RV and helped the woman over the flooded area and into the Library.
In the end, she was fine. There was some damage to the grass area of the parking lot due to her pulling in during the storm and not being able to see the edges of the parking lot.
This was her review that she posted publicly on Harvest Hosts...
